More about the Vision Council: The Vision Council - Guardians of the Earth is a multidisciplinary educational event focused on generating social and environmental change, which serves as a forum for the exchange of resources and practical knowledge with the aim of enriching the knowledge of participants in subjects that build a reconnection with nature. The program includes a week-long schedule with simultaneous offerings on holistic health, ancestral traditions, permaculture, organic agriculture, ecovillages, natural building techniques, and viable models for ecological and social regeneration.

The Vision Council has its origin in the desire to gather ecologists, healers, elders and wisdom keepers of various traditions, young people and artists from different parts of Latin America and the world, with the goal of living together for seven days and sharing a vision of a planet re-created on values of cooperation, creativity, diversity, tolerance, social justice, health, well-being, and respect towards all forms of life.

In the Spring of 1990, Huehuecoyotl Ecovillage in the state of Morelos, Mexico, convened a gathering of scientists and guardians of sacred traditions that included the participation of representatives of Indigenous nations, environmental movements and artists.

Together we conceived the idea to continue the encounter in events that would be called "Vision Council-Guardians of the Earth," and we collaborated to organize the first such event the following year in the Ñañú (Otomí) Ceremonial Center in Temoaya, in the State of Mexico. In the subsequent years we have organized in 15 gatherings in Mexico and two international gatherings, in Brazil and Peru.
